The Broadcom NIC driver takes 98 sec to load / intialize at boot time.

The NIC is connected to a CISCO / LINKSYS Ethernetbridge WET200.

The WET200 includes a 100 MBit switch.

Messages / time line during the boot process:

- after 45 sec one beep - 10 sec after the first beep

offers a DOS NDIS2 Version 11.4.4 Date 12/24/08.

The OS/2 NDIS driver is not part of this zip file, Readme text of the zip file states "for DOS/OS2 NDIS"

Conclusio: The IBM/Lenovo OEM Version is not based on the lastest driver version!!

Problem:

The driver of the T43 XP preload and of the Knoppix 6.1 DVD does not need that amount of time!

Why does the OS/2 NDIS driver requires 98 sec to load / initialize?

Tests with the OS/2 NDIS 10.03 (061215) shows the same behaviour on the IBM ThinkPad T43
